Kianjogu Factory is a washing station in Kirimukuyu, within Nyeri County, and is part of Rutuma Amalgamated Farmers Cooperative Society ("FCS"). The Factories are washing stations, more or less, where local farmers who are members can sell their coffee for processing and export. The "FCS" is the cooperative umbrella that support the various factories and do most of the client outreach and export. Farmers in the region grow mainly SL-28 and SL-34, with small amounts of Ruiru mixed in, and farm altitudes range from 1700 to about 1900 meters above sea level. In Kenya, coffee is graded by size and quality, the main three being AA, AB and PB (peaberry).
