Position Summary

As the Lead Barista / Shop Manager, you’ll be the backbone of our Cincinnati location—setting the tone for daily operations and creating an environment where both customers and team members thrive. This role blends hands-on barista work with shift leadership and store management responsibilities. You’ll guide the team, maintain high standards, and carry out our heart to serve with excellence and joy.

• Lead by example in creating exceptional drinks and customer experiences

• Oversee opening and closing procedures; ensure smooth day-to-day operations

• Supervise, motivate, and support the team during all shifts

• Delegate responsibilities clearly and consistently

• Train new team members and uphold Kings Arms quality and service standards

• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with leadership for restocking

• Maintain a clean, welcoming, and efficient café environment

• Represent the Kings Arms “giving back” culture with integrity, positivity, and professionalism

• Stay calm, punctual, and solution-oriented during high-volume times

• Communicates clearly and efficiently via Slack—shares necessary information, responds promptly, and takes action based on what’s communicated.

• Strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills

• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform moderate physical tasks

• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record

• Reliable transportation (rideshare not sufficient)

• Passion for coffee, people, and cultivating a positive shop culture

• A Shop Manager must take full ownership of their role. A mindset of entitlement or a habit of making excuses will hinder any opportunity for advancement in leadership.

Schedule

• Day Shift (7 AM - 4 PM), Monday-Saturday (Rotating Schedule)
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
