What you're walking into.
Kings Arms isn't just a coffee shop. Our Tampa location operates inside The River at Tampa Bay Church. Our Cincinnati shop is planted in the West End. At both locations, you're the front door to someone's first experience with us. We take that seriously, and we'll equip you to carry it well.

How we train you.
Every new team member goes through a two-week training program built on Barista Hustle, a world-class espresso course used by professionals around the world. You'll learn to dial in espresso, steam microfoam, pour latte art, and manage a full shift. You'll earn a certification at the end. These aren't skills that stay at Kings Arms. They go with you anywhere.

Eye contact, a real smile, a friendly tone, and genuine connection. Great coffee matters, but it's the service that brings people back.

How we rest.
Our Cincinnati location is closed every Sunday. Our Tampa shop closes during the church service so every team member can be in the room, not behind the counter. We build our schedules around what matters, not the other way around.

Full-Time Shift Lead — Tampa and Cincinnati

Position Summary

As our Shift Lead, you'll set the standard for every shift. This role combines hands-on barista work with team leadership. You'll own your shift from open to close, keep the team focused, and make sure every customer walks out glad they came in.

Key Responsibilities

Lead by example in creating exceptional drinks and customer experiences
Own opening and closing procedures and ensure smooth daily operations
Delegate tasks clearly and hold the team to Kings Arms quality and service standards
Train new team members on drink preparation, service flow, and shop culture
Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with leadership for restocking
Maintain a clean, welcoming, and efficient cafe environment
Represent the Kings Arms "giving back" culture with integrity, positivity, and professionalism
Stay calm, punctual, and solution-oriented during high-volume times
Communicate clearly and efficiently via Slack. Share information, respond promptly, and take action based on what's communicated

Qualifications

2+ years barista experience (leadership or supervisory experience preferred)
Strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills
Able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform moderate physical tasks
Valid driver's license with clean driving record
Must have reliable personal transportation (rideshare is not sufficient)
Passion for coffee, people, and building a positive shop culture

Tampa Schedule

Morning shift: 7 AM to 2 PM, Monday through Saturday (rotating schedule)
Split shift: 7 AM to 8:15 AM, then 12:30 PM to 8 PM
Sundays: rotating schedule
Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays

Cincinnati Schedule

Day shift: 7 AM to 4 PM, Monday through Saturday (rotating schedule)
Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
