Ethiopia Duromina Aba Bulgu (Washed)
white peach tea, orange blossom honey
Roasted fresh weekly.
Light Roast
Abdurhiman Aba Bulgu farms thirteen hectares in Kedamesa, in the Goma district of Jimma. His land sits between 1,975 and 2,200 meters. That height is the whole story here. Coffee ripens slowly up there, and it comes out of the cup tasting like flowers and honey.
White peach tea, soft rather than jammy, with the tea structure underneath. The sweetness is closer to orange blossom honey than to sugar. Floral but still sweet.
In Ethiopia, Aba is a term of respect. It means father.
He grows JARC 74110, a variety bred from local heirloom strains at the research center in Jimma. He makes both naturals and washed coffees.
Light roast, roasted to order.
If what you want from coffee is a sense of place, this is the one on our menu. If you'd rather have fruit turned all the way up, go see Jairo Arcila's Strawberry co-ferment.
